Netherlands : Japan 1:0

Ghana : Australia 1:1

I only watched a little bit of the first game, the Netherlands looked really good. Japan fought until the end.

GAMEDAY

The summer season is in full swing now. The Pride’s first tournament game started at 8:45 AM this morning at Wakefield Park. It promised to be a very hot day full of great plays. Well it was a hot day, there were only a few great plays. The first inning of the first game was the worst. The girls looked like they just started playing softball. Luckily they shook it off the following innings. There were several players with a great effort towards the game. Mac was the most flashiest player. All in all it was a pretty good game. The team needs to learn that the play is not over after one play in the field, there are other things going on.

Emilie's graduation celebration went on tonight as well. I can’t believe that she graduated from High School. She will be attending JMU. It was with mixed feelings to see all the neighbors in one place.

I watched the long awaited release of “The Book of Eli”. A somewhat mixture of Mad Max and survival of mankind thing. Some timed events did not make sense nor did the beginning, but the overall message was buried in the end. As usual there is one guy again who tries to seek power or influence over others. Overall it was a disappointment in terms of the flow of events, but I guess they had to put something in it so it does not show a guy wandering towards the west for the entire movie.

In a violent post-apocalyptic society, the drifter Eli has been wandering to west across North America for the last thirty years reading a unique book that he brings with him. He survives hunting small animals and seeking goods in destroyed houses and vehicles to trade in villages for water and supplies. When he reaches the village ruled by the powerful mobster Carnegie, the man offers a job to Eli to join his gang. Carnegie presses his blind lover Claudia to send her daughter Solara to convince Eli spending the night with him. The girl sees the book of Eli, and when Carnegie beats up on Claudia, she reveals that Eli has the sought book. Carnegie sends his gang to take the book from Eli, but the man is up for protecting the book with his life.
