Life Illustrated
Life illustrated is the thought I have in my head. After getting in touch with some of my friends from kindergarten and beyond, I kept wondering what happened during the last 20 some odd years. You grow up surrounded by family and friends, go to school - make more friends, go to middle school, high school, hopefully a higher education at a university. The lader is most likely the most important step since the circle of friends seem to stay with you longer than the other once. The second factor is the preparation for the life after college. So far everything was somewhat sheltered through family and friends, now comes the fun part - being on you own, finding a job, survive in the real world. College will prepare for it somewhat, sheltered, yet on your own in a sense of separation from the immediate family.
Step into the dark after college, if you are lucky you can get a job in your field, otherwise do what you need to make a buck. Dreams will change so will the availability of implementing them. Growing up you wanted to be a fireman, later a scuba diver, police man perhaps, your horizon expanded and the possibilities grew rapidly. This major is interesting, but does it make money in the long run? I know many people who started out with one, changed to another and ended up with yet a different subject. At the end they acquired Phd in something else. Now they are working at various spots like HomeDepot or something like that after years of using their knowledge.
This is the big bubble in between after college madness and thinking of retirement. A lot of stuff happens in there. Then the big break comes on and you think back. Perhaps relink with friends to find out "what ever happened to you", remember this and that.
