Back to Sykesville. What a pleasant surprise, the weather was great, sunny, mild, and warm. The girls came out playing like a softball team. Won the first game.
The second game started similar to the first one. They held up until the last inning, then lost the game.
Some fun after the game at seven-eleven.
Got back just in time to watch the final match of the World Cup. Abby fell asleep, I don’t know if it was because of the game or she was exhausted.

world cupAfter a month of playing good and bad soccer it is finally down to the last two teams. This time is was the Netherlands versus Spain. I realize that either team wants the cup just like the other teams, but why do they have to play foul soccer? The game topped the final from 1986 with the issue of yellow cards. What ever happened to playing soccer? This grab about the short passing, trying to go through the middle or two defenders at once does not work (as shown on TV). It just leads to penalties and free kicks. Some of the plays looked just like that. They were designed to draw a foul around the 20 – 25 m mark to get a good angle on the goal. It was very disappointing to see the final game to be played like this. |
